Our DNA: Tom Noeding - social media professional from the very beginning

Tom has been on board at Social DNA since the beginning of March 2021 and supports our customers in the introduction and implementation of their social media strategy. His many years of professional experience as a social media manager in companies such as Verivox, DER Touristik and RS Components will be put to full use.

How did you come to Social DNA?

I had already met Nemo and Carmelo for lunch a few times before Corona - long before I had to change careers. We quickly realized that we were on the same wavelength and shared many views on social media marketing - and beyond. When I was looking for a new perspective, the two of them approached me early on. Although I didn't initially have a switch to the agency side on my radar, after our conversation I was totally electrified by the possibility. And as soon as my gut tells me "Go for it!", experience shows that it's the best decision!

What fascinates you about social media marketing?

Pretty much everything! Social media marketing offers almost limitless opportunities for companies of all sizes, orientations and industries to achieve strong awareness in their own market environment. Ideally, this not only leads to new customers and higher sales, it also paves the way for exciting collaborations, e.g. with media partners, suppliers and influencers. In addition, a convincing social media positioning can also have an impact on the company, for example by strengthening and promoting employee identification. Those who only pursue performance-oriented social media goals are wasting a lot of potential. Much more is possible.

Why did you choose Social DNA?

The friendly team was clearly the deciding factor for me. And then, of course, there are the exciting clients from the B2B environment and the resulting projects that appeal to me. What also motivates me: Social DNA is a young and dynamic agency that is currently growing rapidly. In this phase, you can learn a lot and play an active role in shaping things. I often missed that at larger companies.

What is your strength and how do you bring it to projects and partners?

Over the past thirteen years, I have worked as a social media manager for various industries and companies. For example, I helped develop the first social media strategy for DER Touristik (REWE Group), launched the Prio brands DERTOUR and DER Deutsches Reisebüro and set up Facebook Local Pages for more than 450 travel agencies and introduced them via training and direct support.

Most recently, I was responsible for setting up and developing social media channels in DACH at RS Components, a global distributor for electronics, electromechanics, automation and maintenance. This gave me an in-depth insight into complex business processes, particularly in the B2B environment. But I am also familiar with the daily challenges and pain points in social media management. This helps me to put myself in the shoes of our customers, identify their needs and find sensible solutions.

What dreams and goals are you pursuing?

Professionally: Integrating quickly and well into the team, getting to know the customers and then getting straight to work to make my contribution to the success of the projects.

Privately: To be there for my family, to continue to be involved in BVCM e.V. and to inspire even more people for social media and make them fit as part of my teaching activities.

What do you particularly like about Social DNA?

The positive team spirit impressed me right from our first meeting. The ideal basis for working together, having fun and developing creative solutions together.

Which drink should not be missed when toasting?

I rarely drink alcohol, but if there's something to celebrate, I like a glass of red wine or a gin and tonic.
